Here are some problems a little different from the actual questions:

1) Let f(x) = |x| and g(x) = x^2. Find all values of x for which f(x) > g(x). Write your answer in interval notation.

2) Consider f(x) = 1/x and g(x) = -sqrt(x). Find the sum of the number of intersections between f and g, and the number of intersections between f and g^(-1).

3) How many intersections are there between the graphs of f(x) = 0.8x and g(x) = ⌊x⌋?

Thank You!

2) f and g have two intersections, and f and g^{-1} have two intersections, so the sum is 4.
