There were 180 more bags in shop A than shop B at first. After 1/5 of the bags were transferred from shop A to shop B, there were 24 more bags in shop B than shop A. How many bags were there in shop B at first?
Originally there are B bags in shop B and B+180 bage in shop A
then after transfer
there will be
\(B+\frac{B+180}{5}\;\;bags\;\ in\; shop\;\;B\)
and
\(\frac{4}{5}(B+180)\) bags in shop A
You can take it from there.
=> Let assume the number of bags in shop (A) be x and in shop (B) be y
Now, According to question :-
x = 180 + y ------ (1)
Also (180 + y) * 1/5 were transferred to shop (B)
So, y + (180 + y) * 1/5 = 24 + 4/5 (180 + y)
=> y + 36 + y/5 = 24 + 144 + 4/5y
=> y = y/5 - 4/5y = 144 + 24 - 36
v> 2/5y = 132 => y = 330
[Total No. of Bags in Shop (B) = 330]
