Renee can sew at a rate of 1.5625 square feet per hour (25 divided by 16).

Genera can sew at a rate of 2.0833 square feet per hour (25 divided by 12).

The assumption is that the two are able to sew at the same rates when working together, making the total sewing rate 3.6458 square feet per hour (summing the two).

25 divided by 3.6458 gives a required sewing time of 6.86 hours.

I think it is 28 hours, or 1 day and 4 hours.

Here's an easy way to solve this type of problem.

Just add 1/16 and 1/12 = 28/192

Now...."flip" the fraction over

192/28 = 6.86 hrs.   !!!

And there you go.....
