Using the points (-4, 3) and (2,-7).
Write an equation to the line, then graph the line.

I'll do the first one....you can try the second

 (-4, 3) and (2,-7)

Find the slope

[ subtract the y coordinates in some order]            [-7 -3]         -10      -5

____________________________________ =   ______  =    __ =   __

[subtract the x coordinates in the same order]       [2 - -4 ]         6        3

Using the slope   and either point - I'll use (2, -7) -  we have

y  =  slope ( x -  x coordinate of point)  +  y coordinate of point

y =  (-5/3) ( x - 2)  -  7  simplify

y = (-5/3)x + 10/3  - 7

y = (-5/3)x + 10/3 - 21/3

y = (-5/3)x - 11/3

Here's the graph :   https://www.desmos.com/calculator/rjqsgifzrv

cool cool cool
