a. find the number of revolutions per minute (rpm)

b. if the radius of the pulley is 5 inches, find the linear velocity in inches per second

A full revolution is 360 degrees and since the pulley turns 120 degrees a second, it can fully revolve in 3 seconds. There are 60 seconds in a minutes, so 60/3 = 20 

 

20 revolutions a minute.
