In the local frisbee league, teams have 7 members and each of the 4 teams takes turns hosting tournaments. At each tournament, each team selects two members of that team to be on the tournament committee, except the host team, which selects three members. How many possible 9 member tournament committees are there?

Here's  what I get  :

In  one  tournament   we  have

C(7,3) *  [ C (7, 2) ] ^3   =

35 * 21^3   =

324135   possible committees in one tourney

Your hyperbolic gratitude is interesting; especially since you didn’t bother to give CPhill a point.W T F

Derek actually had given CPhill a point Ginger .....   CPhill didn't give himself one...

OOPS ... The hyperbolic gratitude is still interesting, though.  hyperbolically interesting

CPhill’s solution is incomplete; it does not include the number of ways to select the host team.

Maybe CPhill figured the host team was preset.  I think that this is a reasonable assumption.

Obviously if it is not pre-set you would need to multiply the answer by 4.

Just as GA says.
