Karen spent 1/4 of her money on 2 fish burgers and 6 chicken wings for a party. The cost of each fish burger was three times the cost of each chicken wing. She bought some more fish burgers with 2/3 of her remaining money. How many fish burgers did she buy altogether?

fish burger => fb            chicken wing => cw

2 fb = 6 cw             2 fb + 6 cw = $1/4             2 fb = 1/8

Remaining money = 3/4

3/4(2/3) = 1/2

So, she bought 8 more fish burgers with 2/3 of her remaining money.

Cost of fish burger is 3 times cost of chicken wing

She spent 1/4 of her money on 6 wings

                                           and 2  f.b.

                                          Total = 12

           1/4 of her money = 12

           4/4 of her money = 48

    Remainder of her money = 48 - 12

                                             = 36

    She spent 2/3 of remainder on fish burger.

               2/3 of remainder = 2/3 * 36

                                          = 24

  She spent 24 on rush burgers.

   Since f.b. Costs 6 each,

             24 ÷ 6 = 4 fish burgers
