Hello :3

I'm having a lot of difficulty with this question:

An ant has a mass of around 18x10g and the total population on earth is estimated at 100x10 ants.  If a hippo has a mass of 4000kg, how many hippos represent the total mass of ants on earth?
The final answer must be in scientific notation.

Thanks for helping me out!

P.S. wow, it's been A LONG time since i've logged in. I remember, this was my go-to website if i had any difficulties, haha

100*10 is only 1000 ants.  There are a lot more ants than that!  So you have an error in your question.

If your question was correct.

You'd have

     18*10*100*10 g   divided by  4000kg

=    180000g             divided by   4000kg

=        180Kg             divided by   4000Kg

Note that the ants weigh less than one hippo

=        18/400

=  0.045

=   4.5*10^(-2)
