Help!!! What is 1 1/4 plus 4 2/3?

 1 and a fourth plus 4 and 2 thirds is 5 and 11 twelfths because 1 plus 4 is five and you convert 1 forth into 3 twelfths by multipling the numerator and the denomenator by 3 because it is just the same fraction, just different numbers and you can make them compatable and do the same to the other fraction by multipling 3 by 4 and 2 by four to get 8 twelfths and 3 plus 8 equals 11 and 1 plus 4 is five to get 5 and 11 twelfths.
