At a small college, the ratio of men to women is 9:4. If there are presently 720 women, how manyadditional women would it take to reduce the ratio of men to women to 2:1.
First, we need to find how many men there are currently.
We begin by dividing 720 by 4 = 180
Knowing that, we finally have our "scale factor".
To find how many men there are currently, we multiply 180 * 9 = 1620
To find out how many women we need, we divide 1620 by 2 = 810.
Additional women: 810 - 720 = 90.
A really weird ratio, considering that more women go to college than men (not being biased, just statistics)...but anyways, I guess they went to different colleges!
