I need help with these 4 problems. Please do not just give me the answers only, but show me how you got the answer please.

1) 4 / sqrt(32)

2) 5 / sqrt(48)

3) 3sqrt(5) / sqrt(25)

4) 3sqrt(24) / sqrt(2)

1. There is a nifty little rule with radicals that goes as follows  sqrt(ab)=sqrt(a)sqrt(b)   it only works for positive values of a and b, but it is pretty rare that we are not looking for positive values so lets carry on.  As a quick example lets decompose sqrt(32)this way

Sqrt(32)=sqrt(16)sqrt(2)=4sqrt(2)  This will be useful for simplifying your original problem!

4 / sqrt(32)=4/(4sqrt(2))=1/sqrt(2)   It sure would be nice to leave it like this but we need to rationalize the denominator.  I'll multiply by a very sneaky form of 1, sqrt(2)/sqrt(2)

1sqrt(2)/sqrt(2)sqrt(2)   Please note that sqrt(2)sqrt(2)=2

so our final answer is sqrt(2)/2

With that in mind go ahead and try number 2 for yourself.  If you post your working and/or questions here I'll check them for you!

Thanks jboy, The question askers should be encouraged to join in like this.

I think so anyway!

so I have given you a thumbs up for both your answers.
