4.702, so your answer is 4.70. I got this using S-A-S, using the 2 sides and an angle you get 4.702. Can you please answer my question right under this please?

Two unlabelled angles are = 54o

x / sin72 =  4 / sin 54       x = third side = 4.70228 in

Now you can use Heron's Rule to find the area.....are you familiar with it?

Or pythag theorem to find height      4^2 -   (  4.70228/2 )^2    = h^2    h= 3.23606

   area = 2   x   1/2 b h   = b h = 2.35114 X 3.23606 = ~~7.61 in2                                     (edited)

When you multiply the base with the height, you must divide by 2!!! wink

  area = 2   x   1/2 b h   = b h

I did    BUT there are   TWO triangles in this method of solution    2  x 1/2  = 1

I just used the wrong base   should be   2.3511   not  4.70228      Thanx for correction !

Area = [sin(36°)*4] * [cos(36°)*4] = 7.608452132 in² indecision
