Your question is worded kind of poorly..

"If you get a doller for every doller you get"

kind of sounds like you'll only get one doller.. if you're trying to say

"you're given an extra doller for every doller you get"

then that's an entirely different thing..

The posters wording makes sense I just cant think of the right equation

Well I think you just take the sum of x+1 where x is the dollar. So for every dollar you get another dollar. So the answer is 2 dollars

This is how I think you solve it. I used the equation of 1 dollar equalling the original dollar.

1 = 1
41 – 40 = 61 – 60
16 + 25 – 40 = 36 + 25 – 60
4² + 5² – 2 * 4 * 5 = 6² + 5² – 2 * 6 * 5
(4 – 5)² = (6 – 5)²
4 – 5 = 6 – 5
4 = 6
2 = 3
1 + 1 = 3

So you must have 3 dollars

That explanation doesnt mathematically make any sense whatsoever just a simple misuse of operations.

(4 – 5)² = (6 – 5)²  does not equal the above line.

ok poster here, the answer is very simple

you have 1 dollar

you get a dollar for every dollar you get

so therefore you get another dollar

you just got another dollar so you get another dollar

so therefore the answer is infinity dollars

:)
