Let burgers be b and hotdogs be h. 2b+2h= $15.56 and 3b+5h= $29.92 

Solving the system of equations, we get b+h= $7.78 which means that 3b+3h= $23.34...we subtract this from the second equation and get 

3b+5h-(3b+3h)= $29.92- $23.34

2h= $6.58

Dividing by 2 we get hotdogs to cost $3.29

If we have this cost then we can find the cost of burgers by doing b+ $3.29= $7.78

Solving for b we get b= $4.49 so burgers cost $4.49.
