Bob gets tests grades of 63, 75, and 72. He gets an 80 on his final exam. Find the weighted average if each tests counts for 20%, and the final exam counts for 40% of the final grade.

Here's another way.....since the final exam counts twice as much as the others, we have

 

[63 + 75 + 72 + (2)80]  / 5   = 74

[(63 + 75 + 72) X 20%] + [80 X 40%] =74- Bob's weighted average grade.

Here's another way.....since the final exam counts twice as much as the others, we have

 

[63 + 75 + 72 + (2)80]  / 5   = 74
