1. P - First you solve anything in parenthesis
2. E - Then you solve anything with an exponent
3. M/D - Then you multiply or divide (neither comes before the other so just solve left to right)
4. A/S - Then you add or subtract (again neither comes before the other so just solve from left to right)
If we solve everything in parenthesis first we get:
14*3 + 12/3
There is nothing with an exponent so we can skip that. There is a multiply and a divide operation so perform those from left to right.
42 + 4
Then finally add to get:
46
