ABCD is a square with side length 2.  M is the midpoint of BC, and N is the midpoint of CD.  Find the area of quadrilateral MNDB.

the area is 1 1/2 or 1.5 becuase you are basicly divideing it into th halvs of the 4 squares that you made so I got 1/2 or 0.5 and you subtract 1 of those triangles and 2 of the squares so the area is 4-2-0.5=1.5=1 1/2=3/2

Draw the diagonal DB.

1)  Find the area of triangle(CDB)  =  ½·2·2  =  2

2)  Find the area of triangle(CNM)  =  ½·1·1  =  ½

3)  Subtract the area of triangle(CNM) from triangle(CDB):  2 - ½  =  1½

This is the area of quadrilateral(NMBD).
