We can already tell the slope must be negative, because as the \(x\) value increases the \(y\) value goes down.
We eliminate B and C to get choices of A and D.
A has a y-intercept of a positive number while D has a y-intercept of a negative number. From the points we can see that at \(x=-1\), \(y=5\) and at \(x=2\), \(y=-1\). We can see that at \(x=0\) the answer will be positive, so A is the correct answer.
We can check by graphing.
The red line is \(y=-2x+2\) and we can see that seems like the best line.
You are very welcome!
