If a fence costs 8.75 for a yard (36 inches) I think) and you only have 22 inches how much will the fence be?
This is a simple problem.
set up a ratio:
8.75 : 36
x : 22
36/22=18/11
18/11 *22= 36.
The answer is: 36
You only have a fraction of the fence....you only have 22 out of 36 inches or 22/36
so you would pay 22/36 x 8.75 =
oof, my bad...
In other words,
the cost of 1 inch is = 8.75/36
gives some value, multiply it by 22 inches and that is the answer :)
