2.Parallelogram ABCD has area 144, with AB=16 and BC=12. Find the length of segment DX.

For the first one, split the trapezoid into 2 triangles and a rectangle, then use the ratios of a 30 60 90 triangle to solve. :)))

 

For the second one, remember that AB = DC, and then you should be able to use pythagreon for it.

Note that DX is the height of a triangle BCD, and the area of this triangle is 1/2[ABCD].

 

DX = 144 / 12

 

DX = 12
