Let ABC be an arbitrary triangle. Show a way to construct a point D on BC such that segment AD divides triangle ABC into triangles of equal area.

Just let   D  bisect  BC

 

Triangles  ADB   and  ADC  will be  under  the  same  height  and  base BD =  base DC

 

And triangles  under  the  same  height  and  with  the  same bases have equal areas.....
