If I haven't exercised in a year, can I run 2 miles at my pace?

I ran 2 miles but my tibia bones hurt. Is that normal?

Shin splints (if that is what you are experiencing)  are a common 'over-use' injury....make sure you are wearing good running shoes and try to run on varied surfaces.....grass....gravel...dirt...pavement...running track etc.  Maybe you need to lose some weight before pounding too hard.  Make sure you have adequate dietary calcium.     Non- steroidal meds may help......back off on the running a bit.....try walking.....cross training is important...weigtht lifting is good....bicycling once in a while instead of 'running'.....continued problems?   See your doctor.....

Thx. Sounds like I should lay off the running and try biking instead, thx. I would consider myself normal size, maybe a bit skinny. I'm wearing running shoes. I also have been doing body weight exercises.

You can keep a slow but constant pace and run 2 miles, it doesn't matter about the time

Well.....what is YOUR pace?  How old are you?  DO you have any significant health issues?  Diabetes?  Heart problems/arrythmias (IHSS?) or family history of such??  Neuropathies?  Arthritis? Ostreoporosis?  Blood probllems?   Back problems?  Cancer?

How tall are you?  How much do you weigh?

As you can see THIS is not the forum to ask such health problems.....see your doctor if you have such questions......cheeky
