HI, It might sounds stupid that I got the non easy part of the probleme however here you go !
When digging into the earth, the temperatures rises according to the following linear eqution
T(H) = 15 + 0.01h
Where t(h) is the increase in temperature in degrees Celsius and h is the depth in meters
I found both intercept the issue here is how to explain what it means in the context ? It might be stupid but this is my issues :(
A. Find the vertical interceept and explain what it means in the context of the problem ( 0,15)
B. Find the horizontal interecept and explain what ut means in the context "" I Think its wrong is is ( 1500,0 ) I did 15/0.01 ??
If someone could help me that would be really nice !
Thank you ! :)
Enjoy your day !
T(h) = 15 + 0.01h
The vertical intercept is the temperature of the earth at its surface = 15 C
The horizontal intercept doesn't make much sense in this problem....this is where the temp = 0.....however, given that positve h values represent the distance below ground, in this case, the temp is 0 C at 1500 m above the surface of the earth......
