Area = (1/2) pi * (radius)^2            radius = diameter/2  = 50.6/2  =   25.3 cm

So

Area =

(1/2) pi * (25.3)^2  = about   1005.45 cm^2

A = πr² is the equation to a whole circle.

A = (1/2) πr² is the euqaton to a SEMIcircle (or half of a circle)

Since you are given a diameter of 50.6 cm, you need to half it to get the radius... that would be 25.3 cm.

Now all that's left to do is plug in and solve:

A = (1/2) π(25.3 cm)²

The exact answer is...

A= 320.045π cm²
