how do you increase a number by a percentage
take the initial number divide by 100then times by the percent
add the new number to the initial numbe
Example: $75.00 plus 8% sales tax.
$75.00 X 8/100=$6.00 sales tax
$75.00 + $6.00=$81.00. OR,
$75.00 X 1.08 =$81. This is an easier and simpler way of doing it.
