If a cylinder radius is 5 cm, height is 9 cm, and lets say PI is 3, i got that the square area for the cylinder is 1350 cm2, so lets say the cylinder is remelted to a cube, how do i get the result?

The surface area of the cylinder is just  (assuming that pi = 3)

(area of top and bottom) + (area of the side)

(2 x pi x r^2)   + ( 2 x pi x r x h) =

(2 x 3 x 25) + (2 x 3 x 5 x 9) = 420 cm^3

Now...I assume you want to find the edge of a cube that would give you the same surface area....

So we have......

Sa = 6s^2       where s is a side (edge) length of the cube

420 = 6s^2

s^2 = √(420/6)= √70  = about 8.37 cm.
