How do you construct x Route 5 given x, Euclidian style?

Well I am not sure what is required but to me Euclidian geometry is anything that is constructed so perhaps this will do.

 

If you constructed a square ABCD    where the side length is 2x.

Then bisect side AB to give the point E

then join DE,  DE will be x*sqrt5 in length.
