Thanks Alan :)

Say you want to enter 3 and a half - 6 and a quarter

you do it like this

(3+1/2)-(6+1/4)     don't forget the brackets   :))

$$\left({\mathtt{3}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}}\right){\mathtt{\,-\,}}\left({\mathtt{6}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}}\right) = {\mathtt{\,-\,}}{\frac{{\mathtt{11}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}} = -{\mathtt{2.75}}$$
