log (3/4)^x  = log 5

x log (3/4)   = log 5

x                 = log 5/(log (3/4))

x                 = log 5/ [log 3 - log 4]

x                 =0.6989 /(0.4771 - 0.6020)

x                 = 0.6989 /-0.1249

x                 = -5.595676541232986389111289031225

x                 = -5.5957//

(3/4)^x=5      take the log of both sides

log(3/4)^x  = log(5)     and by a log property, we have

x * log(3/4)  = log(5)    divide both sides by log(3/4)

x  = log(5)/log(3/4) = about -5.6
