how to find "r" if (r/4)^36 = .12244898

Take the 36th root of each side......remember that we must take the ± 36th root on the righr side !!!

So we have

r/4 = ± (.12244898)(1/36)    multiply both sides by 4

r = ±4 (.12244898)(1/36)]

r = about ±3.77334

(r/4)^36  =  .1244898

To remove the 36th power, take the 36th root.     The 36th root is the power (1/36)

[ (r/4)^36 ] ^ (1/36)  =  (.1244898) ^ (1/36)

  r/4  =  (.1244898) ^ (1/36)

     r  =  4 x (.1244898) ^ (1/36)

     r  =  3.7733...
