What is 43 ?

Well if you know that 4 is 16

(4x4)

So to get the 3rd power, you take 16 and multiply by 4

43 IS THE SAME AS 4x4x4 !

4x4=16 x 4 = 64

I did NOT include the negative signs

Also others may have a better way but i would just start from a number like 4, and multiply it 3 times, and see how close to 64 i am.

Simplify the following:
(-64)^(1/3)

(-64)^(1/3)  =  (-1×64)^(1/3)  =  (-1×2^6)^(1/3):
(-2^6)^(1/3)

(-2^6)^(1/3)  =  (-1)^(1/3) (2^6)^(1/3)  =  (-1)^(1/3)×2^(6/3)  =  (-1)^(1/3)×4:
Answer: |
| (-1)^(1/3)×4 =4 (-1)^(1/3)

When you take a root of negative number, you are automatically taking its "complex" root. Hence, the answer:4(-1)^(1/3)
