Multiply them as if they are whole numbers.

To determine where to put the decimal point, count the total number of places in the two original numbers and put that many places in the answer.

Example: 23.45 x 1.023

2345 x 1023 = 2398935

Since there are 5 decimal places in the problem (2 in the first number, 3 in the second), there will be 5 decimal places in the answer.

Answer: 23.98935
