a^2 + b^2 = c^2      where a is a side and b is a side and c is the hypotenuse (Pythagorean Theorem)

you need a calculaor for this but the foumula is a^2 + B^2=c^2 so for instance if one leg is 3 and another is 4 then 3^2+4^2=c^2  9+16=c^2            c^2=25 the square root of 25 is 5 so the hypotnuse is 5 for this equation
