I can get the answer by using the calculator but can someone teach me step though step?

This answer assumes you mean  (5/6) x

5/6  x  = 8/5    Multiply both sides by  6/5

6/5 (5/6) x = (6/5)8/5    Simplify

x = 48/25  = 1 23/25

2. Multiply both sides by 6x and 5
3. Divide both sides by 48

There are a number of ways to tackle this but I think the easiest way is to multiply BOTH sides by the lowest commone denominator.  Which is 30.  If you do that then all the fractions will disappear. :)
