Let f(x)=3x^4-7x^3+2x^2-bx+1. For what value of b is f(1)=1?
3x^4-7x^3+2x^2-bx+1 put in '1' for 'x' to find f(1) and it has to = 1
3 (14) - 7(13) + 2 (12) - b(1) + 1 = 1 I think you should be able to take it from here !
*** edited **** Thanx, Alan !
Let me try...
I simplified it to get \(x=\frac{-2}{b}\) and \(b ≠ 0\)...
I think EP meant to write:
3 (14) - 7(13) + 2 (12) - b(1) + 1 = 1 All the x's should be replaced by 1's. Now find b.
OHHHHH okay thank you!!!
