I have a question about rational numbers that you can answer seeing as you all seem to have plenty of time to b***h about my fellow guests.

I know e and π are transcendental numbers. But if I take the addition or division of them are they rational numbers.

Is e+π a rational number?

Is π/e a rational number?

Wolfram Alpha says it's unknown, but see http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/51617.html

They are approximations so how would you try proving rationality?
