1. What is 3x4x5?

2. A student randomly chose a number, multiplied it by 2, then subtracted 138 from the result and got 102. What was the number he chose?

1. 60

2. Since the student chose a number let (x) be the number he chose:

2 * x - 138=102

2x=240

X=120 is the answer

1.

A: 3 x 4 x 5 = 3 x 4(12) x 5

So 12 x 5 = 60. (3 x 4 x 5 = 60)

2.

A: First, add 138 and 102 to get 240. Then divide 240 by 2 to get your answer! (138 + 102 = 240 / 2 = 120!)
