Factor the expression using the two different techniques listed for Parts 1(a) and 1(b).
36a^4b^10-81a^16b^20
(a) Factor the given expression using the GCF monomial.
(b) Factor the given expression using the difference of squares.
please show work so I can understand how to do it.
(a) 36 and 81 have a common factor of 9, and you can also factor out a^4 and b^10 on both sides... which gives you 9a^4b^10( 4 - 9a^12b^10)
(b) difference of squares formula: a^2-b^2 = (a-b)(a+b). 36 and 81 are both perfect squares, and all of the powers are even. Take the square root of a^2 and b^2, and you get... (6a^2b^5 - 9a^8b^10)(6a^2b^5 + 9a^8b^10). Hope this was helpful (and correct lol)
