 1) Suppose you have a circle A and circle B which both have a central angle measuring 100°. Additionally, the length of the intercepted arc for circle A is 40/9 π meters and for circle B is 5π meters.

If the radius of circle A is 8 meters, what is the radius of circle B?

A)8.5 meters

B)9 meters

C)9.5 meters

D)10 meters

2)Suppose you have a circle A and circle B which both have a central angle measuring 40°. Additionally, circle A has a radius of 3/2 ft and the radius of circle B is 9/2 ft.

If the measure of the sector for circle A is 1/4π ft^2, what is the measure of the sector for circle B?

A)2/9π ft^2

B)4/9π ft^2

C)9/4π ft^2

First one.....we have.....

5pi  =  2pi (r) (100 / 360)

5 =  2 (100/ 360)  * r

5 = 200/360  * r

5 =  20 / 36 *  r

5 =   5 / 9  * r        multiply both sides by   9 / 5

5 *  ( 9 / 5)   =  r

9  (meters)  =   r
