How does the grapgh compare to the parent function?

Slope-intercept form:

y axis intercept happens when x= 0    substitute x= 0 in to the equation

   0 +y = 3      y= 3  is y axis intercept

x axis intercept is when y= 0

  x+ 0 = 3     x = 3  = x axis intercept

slope intercept form is y = mx + b       m= slope   b = intercept

x+y = 3

y = (-1)x + 3      is the slope intercept form

Thanks, EP.....the parent function  is   y  = x

So.....x + y  = 3  ⇒     y  =  -x  +  3

So.......this graph  reflects the parent function  across the x axis and  shifts it up 3 units
