If our monthly income is $1,280 and your house payment is $1,180, what fraction of your monthly income must go to pay your house payment?

I had the same thought, Melody, but there was this other time when I pointed out the possibility that a question might be a trick question and I got ridiculed for it.  So this time, I'm just assuming it was a typo.  :-)

You're right, of course, but it was unsettling nonetheless.  Anyway, just to be careful, I didn't commit to an "answer" answer.  All I did was say what a certain fraction reduces to.
