You have to look at the gretaest common factors of the denomonators. In other words, what number do 4 and 6 have in common? By quickly going through the numbers in your head, you can see that the GCF is 24. After this step, you can convert each one into a fraction

Ifall the gumballs are either orange, yellow, or purple, then:

orange = 3/4 = 9/12

yellos = 1/6 = 2/12

orange + yellow = 9/12 + 2/12 = 11/12

Then  1 - 11/12 or 1/12 = purple
