(1.) Take the logarithm of both sides of the equation to remove the variable from the exponent.

Exact Form:

x=ln(12) / ln(4)

Decimal Form:

x=1.79248125…

Take the logarithm of both sides of the equation to remove the variable from the exponent.

Exact Form:

x=−ln(0.01) /ln(1.5)
