In a triangle,  ABC, the measure of angle B is 3 times the measure of angle  A, and the measure of angle C is

1° less than 6 times the measure of angle A. Find the measure of the angles.

Triangle A B C has angles labeled as follows: A, x degrees; B, 3x degrees; C, (6x minus 1) degrees. x degreesx°

left parenthesis 6 x minus 1 right parenthesis degrees(6x−1)° 3 x degrees3x° ABC

The measure of angle A is ___°.

Let angle A  = x

So B  = 3x

And C = 6x - 1

And these sum to 180°.....so

x + 3x + 6x - 1  = 180

10x  - 1  =  180      add 1 to both sides

10x  =  181       divide both sides by 10

x =  18.1° = A

B =   3 (18.1)  =  54.3°

C =  6(18.1) - 1   =  107.6°
