A horse 24 feet from the center of a merry-go-round makes 32 revolutions. In order to travel the same distance, how many revolutions would a horse 8 feet from the center have to make?

Horse 24 feet from center:

     r = 24ft

     circumference = (24 * 2)π

                             = 48π

     48π * 32 = 1536π (which is the distance that horse travelled)

Horse 8 feet from center:

      r = 8ft

      circumference = (8 * 2)π

                              = 16π

      1536π ÷ 16π = 96 revolutions, which is your answer :)

Faster way would be to just multiply 32 revolutions by 3 since 24 ÷ 8 = 3 so the number of revolutions would have to be tripled
