ok so there are 4 yellow, 6 red, and 8 green whats the possibality he will pick out a green one show you're work
did it in class just don't know how to do the steps
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then
If jack eats one whats the possibality he will pick out a red (SHOW YOU'RE WORK) please
P(Green) = Number of Green / Total of Red, Yellow and Green = 8 / 18 = 4 / 9
P(Red) = Number of Red / Total of Red, Yellow and Green = 6 / 18 = 1 / 3
You're the smart one here but theoretically wouldent for red it would be cus of he did eat one right? 6/17? and how would I simp it
Hi, BruceWayne.
CPhill is correct for the second question.
The question is asking what the probability of Jack picking a red one and eating it, not the probability of picking a red after he eats one of them.
6 red / 18 total
simplifies to
1/3
1/3 is the answer.
(BTW, 6/17 cannot be simplified any further than it already is.)
I looked again, and the second problem doesn't really make much sense.
It's asking the probability of Jack picking red if he ate one.
How would we know which color he ate?
IDK, but maybe if you want a clear answer, you could rephrase the question?
Thanks,
