Jacqueline and her classmates exchanged cards to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Two-thirds of the cards she received were from the girls in her class and seven of the cards she received were from the boys. If Jacqueline received a card from every one of her classmates, what is the total number of students in Jacqueline’s class, including Jacqueline?

If 2/3 of the cards she received were from girls, then 7 boys must represent the other 1/3.

So

7/ (1/3)  = 21 and that's the total number of cards she received.

Then,  21 other students in her class - plus hereself - equals 22 students.
