Hey dude! Do you mind answering a math question right now? Im having a tough time on it and almost all my class is to. Heres the question.

You have a frame that holds three pictures. You pulled out your favorite five photos. How many sets of three are there?

Make a list of all the possible combinations using the numbers 1 - 5 to represent the photos.

i think there is 10 combinations but that doesnt seemright.

We have 5 photos and we want to choose only 3

So  C(5,3)  =  10

 

Call the pics  1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

 

Here are the possible sets :

 

(1,2,3)    (1,4,5)

(1,2,4)    (2,3,4)

(1,2,5)    (2,3,5)

(1,3,4)    (2,4,5)

(1,3,5)    (3,4,5)
