2)  Note that   lxl   can be written as  sqrt ( x^2)

 

So

 

f(x) > g(x)

 

sqrt (x^2)  > x^2       square  both sides

 

x^2 >  x^4      subtract x^4 from both sides

 

x^2  - x^4   >   0

 

Note that  this is  only true  on the intervals  (-1, 0)  and (0 , 1)
