First, we write this in to a equation: 2x+5=3(5-x)

2x+5=15-3x

-5 and 3x on both sides

5x=10

divide 5 on both sides

x=2

Hope that helps! smiley

Let the number = x
2x + 5 =3 *(x - 5)
2x + 5 =3x - 15
x = 20
